Waiting ! Waiting  !Waiting ! As a mother, I’ve concluded that I have waited for a total of 5 years in the last 25 for my 3 children………the last almost grown.  Lovingly and laboriously I’ve waited at soccer, basketball, softball and baseball practices and  swimming.

 Trumpet, flute, violin, piano and band lessons. Gymnastics, ballet, sailing, swimming, scouts, riding, art lessons, enrichment classes, children’s theatre. Religious instruction, teacher conferences, nursery school, karate….and so much more. Whew!

 So much waiting…… so little time.  I think all this waiting begins as a devine master plan. Surely, it prepares one for the “NO WAITING PERIOD”. For waiting takes perseverance, patience, time, resourcefulness, creativity, love and have I mentioned…time. Ah time, it’s what all parents crave……….time for this, and time for that……….just more time. Time to travel, play golf, see friends, read, walk, go to dinner or the movies…..the past times of the over 50’s set. Waiting actually prepares us for this period. Waiting is like bootcamp for a wonderful period of our lives called “Going Places”. Friends ask ,“So where have you been, where are you going??” …..Europe?, Cancun?, the Rockies?, a cruise?, out for a ride?, out to dinner? , a reunion…..-surely better than waiting!!!!! So much fun now, so many friends now, so much more time now………….OR will I really miss all that waiting? I’m sure of it.
